411 Un-confirmed Minutes of an Ordinary Meeting of the Silverdale Children’s Playground Charity Trustees held in the Silverdale Institute on Monday, 3rd October 2016.
412 Present: Chairman – T.G. (Terry) Bond, Councillors J. (John) Bennett, S.L. (Shirley) Mason, K. (Keith) Palmer, (Nigel) Ribbons, D. (David) Sandiford and P.N. (Paul) Williams, the Clerk – L.D. (Denise) Challenor, the Deputy Clerk – S.D. (Sue) Hayward and 2 members of the public.

414 Minutes of Previous Meeting
The Minutes of the Ordinary meeting of the Playground Charity Trustees held on Monday, 5th September 2016 were approved then signed by the Chairman.

417 Matters raised by Members of the Public for Future Consideration

418 Inspection Report/ Repairs
Councillor Bennett reported on the following repairs:
1. wooden log train – the rotten areas have been removed and filled as a temporary repair. RESOLVED that the Clerk press for a response from Playdale regarding the warranty of the train;
2. surfacing (i) RESOLVED to ask Mr Stefan Laws to rotavate the wood chips to the aerial slide before half-term. It was noted that Holgate’s caravan park have an alternative surface in their play area which might be a suitable solution for the aerial slide in the long-term; (ii) Mr Laws has dealt with some of the turf where there were trip points at the entrance to the cradle swings, but more areas need attention; (iii) rubber pads are on order for around the spring mobiles; (iv) rubber wet pour is on order (with Lancaster City Council (Lancaster CC)) to replace that which has shrunk and is lifting around the edges in several places;
3. flat swings – Lancaster CC is to supply Q links and safety pins (free of charge) at the same time as the wetpour is delivered;
4. gate at entrance to playground – Councillor Bennett reported that a RoSPA compliant gate (which is galvanized and powder coated in green) can be supplied at a cost of £813 + VAT plus delivery charge. RESOLVED to order the gate and ascertain the cost of installation. Further RESOLVED to let Mr Paul Holgate know about the new gate (as he supplied the one which is to be replaced) and to write to the Bowling Club to ask if they would contribute towards the cost.
