129 Matters Raised by Members of the Public for Future Consideration

130 Repairs 1.  The Chairman reported that he had inspected the boundary fence and advised that it should continue to be maintained until the beech hedge is more established. It was noted that no action is necessary.
 2.  Councillor Ribbons reported that:
 (a)  some well-rotted bark from the aerial slide (zip wire) has been laid between the concrete and the turf in the area from which the bench was removed. Half of the turf is, however, already dead.  RESOLVED to re-turf the area as necessary once the new contractor for grounds maintenance is in post;
 (b)  the slide complex and elephant ‘mobile’ have been repaired by Lancaster City Council;
 (c)  the stopper spring to the zip wire is no longer effective.  RESOLVED that Councillor Ribbons look up Playdale’s price for a replacement part (plus labour) then to discuss this repair further;
 (d)  new bark has been delivered and is in situ for the aerial slide.  RESOLVED that the Clerk write to thank Mr Len Brockbank who helped to spread the bark when it was delivered. It was noted that the bark needs to be raked regularly;  RESOLVED that the Clerk notify Mr Michael Knight.

131 Funding of the Bark
 It was noted that underlay was not laid beneath the bark as this would have caused drainage problems.  RESOLVED to authorise payment of £350.72 (cheque 100007) to Silverdale Parish Council in respect of part payment of the bark following the receipt of this amount from the Lancashire County Council’s Local Members Grant Scheme.

132 Date of Next Meeting
 It was noted that the date of the next meeting is Monday, 2nd July 2012.
 Sue D. Hayward
 Deputy Clerk to the Trustees
