181 Receipt of Information about Matters Arising from the Minutes of Previous Meetings, not Covered by the Agenda
The Chairman referred to item 172 regarding Lancaster City Council’s (Lancaster CC) inspection report: securing the benches – Lancaster CC have quoted £100 (including VAT) to carry out this work but Members are not clear as to why it is needed as the benches already seem secure; RESOLVED that the Chairman meet the Lancaster CC inspector on site when the next inspection is carried out; wooden strips around the wetpour creating a trip hazard – the Chairman met with Mr Neil Pharaoh to look at this but they felt that if the strips were refixed a new trip hazard would be created and if removed would allow grass to grow into the wetpour. RESOLVED that the Chairman ask the inspectors their advice.
182 Receipt of Declarations of Trustees’ Interests Relating to any Items Appearing on the Agenda
None.
183 Matters Raised by Members of the Public for Future Consideration
The member of the public reported that he had seen someone securing the benches.
184 Update on Repairs Necessary to the Playground
It was noted that Mr Pharaoh will replace the timber panels to the tower complex as necessary (and seal the sawn edges); Councillor Ribbons has a supply of replacement bolts which can be used. RESOLVED to authorise the expenditure of £150 on timber.
185 Aerial Runway
It was noted that the options for resurfacing the runway are bark, rubber chips, artificial grass or wetpour; Lancaster CC have confirmed that artificial grass or wetpour are acceptable. RESOLVED that the Chairman contact RoSPA for advice as to which material and the width of the track and that the Clerk obtain costings for wetpour and artificial grass.
