236 Minutes of Previous Meeting
The Minutes of the Ordinary meeting of the Playground Charity Trustees held on Monday, 3rd June 2013 were approved then signed by the Chairman.
237 Receipt of Information about Matters Arising from the Minutes of Previous Meetings, not Covered by the Agenda
None.
238 Receipt of Declarations of Trustees’ Interests Relating to any Items Appearing on the Agenda
None.
239 Matters Raised by Members of the Public for Future Consideration
The member of the public noted that at the June meeting the Trustees had commented that it would be impossible to police a prohibition of the consumption of alcohol on the playing field and wished this to be recorded. He reported that it appears that some of the terms of the contract for the grounds maintenance of the playground are not being adhered to, namely, the grass is not being cut weekly (longer gaps have been observed), litter is not being picked up and the grass cuttings are not being taken away (they have been left on the northern boundary of the field).
240 Inspection Report
It was noted that the anti-wrap bearing to a swing in the junior playground is damaged and an end cap is missing under the bridge.
241 Aerial Runway
RESOLVED:
1. that Councillor Williams and the Clerk liaise to make arrangements for the delivery of the wood chippings for the runway;
2. to authorise payment of £145 (cheque 100011) to Silverdale Parish Council as a contribution for the wood chippings;
3. to authorise the return of £450 (cheque 100012) to Lancashire County Council (Local Members’ Grant Scheme) as it is classed as “double funding” (the grant had been given towards the cost of a membrane and rubber chippings but, as wood chippings are now to be used (and no membrane), and the cost is less, there is no longer a shortfall in the funding already agreed by Silverdale Parish Council).
242 Fund Raising
RESOLVED that Councillors Williams and Bradfield would meet and form a group to look at ideas for fund raising.
243 Date of Next Meeting
It was noted that the date of the next meeting is Monday, 4th November 2013.
Sue D. Hayward, Deputy Clerk to the Trustees
