323 Un-confirmed Minutes of an Extraordinary Meeting of the Silverdale Children’s Playground Charity Trustees held in the Silverdale Institute on Monday, 11th May 2015.
324 Present: Chairman – T.G. (Terry) Bond, Councillors J. (John) Bennett, A.J. (Tony) Houghton, S.L. (Shirley) Mason, N. (Nigel) Ribbons and P.N. (Paul) Williams, the Clerk – L.D. (Denise) Challenor, the Deputy Clerk – S.D. (Sue) Hayward and one member of the public.
325 Apologies for Absence: Councillors K. (Keith) Palmer and D. (David) Sandiford.
326 Minutes of Previous Meeting
The Minutes of the Ordinary meeting of the Playground Charity Trustees held on Monday, 2nd March were approved then signed by the Chairman.
327 Receipt of Information about Matters Arising from the Minutes of Previous Meetings, not Covered by the Agenda
Councillor Ribbons referred to: 1. item 320, regarding end caps for the cargo net, and advised that he has some suitable ones but hasn’t fitted them as yet; 2. item 321, regarding fundraising, and reported that he is still trying to book the Gaskell Hall for a coffee morning.
The Clerk referred to item 320, regarding playground inspections, and reported that Mr Stefan Laws met with Mr Paul Cocker, Playground Inspector (Lancaster City Council) on an inspection to look at what constitutes a potential hazard.

329 Inspection Report/ Repairs
It was noted that Mr Cocker’s report of 1st April identified some shrunken areas of wet pour and a tree stump on the embankment near the small play area might be a hazard. RESOLVED that Councillor Ribbons inspect the tree stump.
Councillor Houghton advised that all of the wood to the picnic table is in need of treatment with preservatives (not just the seat) and that the paved area just inside the gate is slippery when damp/ wet. RESOLVED that Councillor Ribbons spray the area with patio cleaner and that future tenders for the maintenance of the playground include this work. Councillor Houghton also advised that the wooden train carriage is rotten and will need to be replaced shortly and that the wooden posts (against which onlookers can perch) are rotting.
330 Annual Accounts
It was noted that the balance at 1st April 2014 was £154.67 and the balance at 1st April 2015 stood at £8.09.
331 Matters Raised by Members of the Public for Future Consideration
A resident mentioned that the bark under the aerial slide needs raking.
332 Date of Next Meeting
It was noted that the date of the next meeting is Monday, 6th July 2015.
